Getting started with MT4

Getting access to the MT4 platform is as easy as signing up for an account!

Once you have provided the necessary registration information you will receive an email and can then download the platform. Signing up for an account and downloading the platform does not cost anything nor does it hold any obligations to trade.

We recommend you practice trading with the same amount in which you would trade on the actual exchange market.

Once this is set up, log in to the platform, deposit money into your client account to cover your margin and trade! We charge no account fees, data access fees or software fees, so it's free to sign up for and run your account.

To open your live trading account, simply:

  1. Familiarise yourself with our Margin Trading Product Disclosure Statement & Terms and Conditions
  2. Complete the on-line application form
  3. Provide us with one of each form of ID:
    •     Proof of identity: A driver’s license or passport
    •     Proof of residential address: A utility bill or a bank statement

These forms of ID are needed to verify your identity to comply with financial regulations and for your own protection. We only ask for the minimum information required. These documents can be scanned and emailed to us at trading@velocitytrade.co.nz or photocopied and faxed to us at +64 9 309 6283.

 

Types of Trading Accounts

You can open an account as an individual, as a company or as a trust. You'll see these options on the live online application form. We can also supply paper copies of the forms if required. 

Depositing funds

Depositing funds to your account is easy and can be done either online via direct deposit, by credit card, cheque or cash.

Once we have processed your application, we will send you your new account and login details as well as instructions on how to deposit and withdraw funds.

You can then deposit funds into your new account to start trading!  See our online instructions for depositing and withdrawing funds. 

  

Withdrawing funds

  1. To withdraw funds from your margin trading account:
    Fill out the online form and submit it to us.
    Or download and complete the withdrawal-form.pdf and email or fax it back to us.
  2. By default, when you withdraw funds, we send them to the bank account you nominated when registering for an account. If your bank account has changed or you would like to nominate a new account in which we will send your funds, complete this form and email or fax it back to us.
